VVVVVAMMPPPIIREEEE WEEEKEEENNND!

So you should know Vampire Weekend is my FAVORITE band ever. No joke.
But yea, its also kinda only a coincidence that I know of them. One of my good friends at the time had awesome music taste [and still really does] and when she was talking to a friend she said she was going to see Vampire Weekend at some downtown venue and tickets were like $16. Yea i know, nothing right?
Well I was sold. I gave her the money and in return got the ticket and talked about them like no other... forgetting to mention to my mom that I was going to my first concert to a band that she called "Vampire Slayers" and with a group of friends she hadn't met.

[So if you knew my mom you would know that she is the over protective type that likes to be in the know about everything [when will you be home, what exactly are you going to be doing, what route are you taking to downtown, ect] so when I mentioned to her that I was going to this concert she sorta fliped.]

So anyways its about a week before the concert and I am listening to VW on myspace [because youtube wasn't around yet and myspace was still sorta in] and totally digging them. I got my friend to burn me a mix CD with the band on them too so that I would be able to sing along to a few of the songs at the concert.
Anyways to finish up this part of the story I went, I concurred, I had fun.

Fast forward to this last January[2010]. Vampire Weekend had just put out their second [and might I say greatest?] CD.
I was sold in two seconds, I knew that for the upcoming concert I HAD to have tickets. Unfortunately they sold out in like a hour and i couldn't get them, however my friend [at this point I'm living in a different state so this is a different friend too] scored us some tickets at $40 each. I knoooooow. $24 dollar markup. That means they've gotten popular.... Ugh.
We went to the concert and they were AMMMMMAZINNNG. No joke awesome.
It was their first concert in Texas and they said they loved it [although I cant assume that a band would tell their audience that they hated that concert].
So now they release their next tour! 5 months after their last one! You think I'm down? HECK YES.
I've already bought my ticket [Heck yes, only $42 this time! No $24 markup for me.] and I have to say that I am counting down the days to October 6th!

Sorry for the long stoory!

Love& Happiness,
D
